Gefluchten Atarah Style #501-6, 6.25 x 38 Inch Band

The same #501 braid, taken out to its widest cut: 6.25 inches across by 38 long. Where the standard 501 band reads as a neat stripe along the collar, this one reads as a panel. The braid repeats more times across the width, and the pattern becomes the dominant feature of the tallis rather than a trim on it.

Because it is offered in the one size, the only question is whether 6.25 inches is right for the tallis you own. It is not a subtle band. It suits a full-size heavy wool tallis, a man who wants his tallis to look substantial from the back of the shul, and anyone replacing an atarah that always felt too thin for the garment it was sewn onto. The 38 inch length is standard for a full collar, so it fits without adjustment.

If someone else in the family already wears the narrower 501, ordering this keeps the pattern consistent between them while giving the wider band to whoever wears the larger tallis.
