Siddur with Magnetic Closure, Brown Modern Design #299

A brown siddur in Malchut's modern #299 cover — clean lines, no embroidery, and a magnetic closure that pulls the front shut on its own. The brown is deep and matte rather than glossy, which is why this is the colour men tend to take when the other two options in the series, gold and green, feel like too much.

The magnet is the reason to buy this one over an ordinary bound siddur. Nothing to zip, nothing to fasten — you close it and it stays closed, so the pages do not splay and dog-ear at the bottom of a bag or on a car seat. It comes in Ashkenaz, Sefard and Eduth Mizrach, so pick the nusach you daven before adding it to your order.

It is a good everyday siddur for a man who wants something that looks current rather than traditional, and it works as a straightforward gift because the design does not commit the recipient to anyone else's taste. The same #299 cover is produced in gold and green if you are buying more than one and want them to differ.
