Description
A canopy carried on two embroidered poles fills the front of design 188. The poles are stitched with enough shading to read as round, and the canopy stretched between them lifts clear of the velvet, which is where the 3D in the name comes from. Against a dark velvet ground the whole structure reads clearly from a few feet away.
The velvet comes in black or navy and the thread in silver or gold. Four sizes are made: 8.5x9.5 for a single pair of tefillin, no stones on that one; 10x10.5 in the bar mitzvah tefillin cut; 14x14 as a large talis bag; and 16x16 extra large. The 16x16 is the size to take if you keep a tallis and a tefillin bag together in one bag rather than carrying two.
Design 188 is also produced as a siddur cover, so the bag a man carries and the siddur he opens can match. That kind of pairing is a real reason to buy a Malchut design rather than a one-off bag.
