Velvet Tallis & Tefillin Bag, 3D Canopy Curtain and Floor #175

Design 175 stitches a draped canopy curtain above a tiled floor, and the whole scene is raised rather than flat. The folds in the curtain are shaded in thread, not printed, which is what gives the panel its depth, and the floor beneath it is worked in repeating tiles that run out toward the seams. It is one of the more pictorial faces in the Malchut range.

Choose black or navy velvet for the body and gold or silver for the embroidery. The bag is cut in four sizes: the 8.5x9.5 tefillin bag with no stones, the 10x10.5 bar mitzvah tefillin size, the 14x14 large talis bag and the 16x16 extra large. Many families order the tefillin size and the talis size together in the same colour so a bochur has a set that still matches years later.
