Velvet Tallis & Tefillin Bag, 3D Crystal Crown Canopy #180

The canopy on design 180 is topped with a crown, and the crown is set with crystals rather than embroidered solid. The stones sit in the raised thread work and pick up light directly, so the top of the panel reads brighter than the rest of the face. Below it the canopy is worked in the same 3D stitching as the rest of this series, on a velvet ground.

Velvet comes in black or navy, embroidery in gold or silver. There are four sizes: 8.5x9.5 for one pair of tefillin, supplied without stones on the body of the bag; 10x10.5 in the bar mitzvah tefillin cut; 14x14 large talis; and 16x16 extra large. If the bag is going to be handled hard every morning, the plainer sizes wear better than a stone-set one, so many buyers take the crystals in the talis size and keep the tefillin bag simple.

There is a matching challah cover in design 180, crown and all, which makes it a good choice for a chosson and kallah setting up their own home.
