Description
The same 540 shape without any thread on it. Black velvet is blocked against black crushed velvet, and the design is carried entirely by where the seams fall and how the two nap directions catch light. From a few feet away it reads as a plain black bag; up close there is more going on than that.
Three sizes are made: 10.5 by 10 inches in the bar mitzvah cut, 14 by 14 as a large talis bag, and 16 by 16 extra large. Plain bags like this one suit a man who does not want his talis bag to be the thing anyone notices, and they suit a yeshiva bochur for the same reason. The 16-inch has room for a tallis and a tefillin bag together.
Design 540 is also produced as a bris cover, in case the pattern is wanted for a different occasion in the same family.
