Black Velvet with Faux Leather Trim Tallis & Tefillin Bag #545

Design 545 trims black velvet with black faux leather along the seams rather than blocking the two into large panels. The leather runs as a narrow edge round the face, which is exactly where a bag rubs against a coat, a bench or the inside of a knapsack, so the hardest-wearing material sits where the wear actually happens.

Sizes are 10.5 by 10 inches for bar mitzvah, 14 by 14 for a large talis bag and 16 by 16 for the extra large. For a bochur this is one of the more practical designs in the range — the velvet face still looks the way a talis bag should, but the trim keeps the corners from going shabby in the first year. For a man, the 16-inch takes a full tallis with room over.

All black throughout, so it is a bag that never looks out of place, in the week or on Shabbos.
