Description
On design 565 the faux leather does the structural work and a black velvet inset holds the traditional face. It is a straightforward division of labour: the material that survives daily handling covers most of the bag, and the material that looks right on a shul bench sits where it is seen.
The bag comes at 10.5 by 10 inches for bar mitzvah, 14 by 14 as a large talis bag and 16 by 16 extra large. This combination is a common choice for a boy going into yeshiva, where a bag is carried, dropped and packed daily. It also suits a man who keeps his tefillin in the car during the week rather than carrying them back and forth.
