Description
Black faux leather is blocked against black crushed velvet on design 568. Everything is one colour, and the entire design rests on the difference between a smooth, hard surface and a broken, textured one. In daylight the crushed velvet shifts as the bag moves while the leather stays flat, which is the whole effect.
It is made in the bar mitzvah size at 10.5 by 10 inches, the large talis bag at 14 by 14 and the extra large at 16 by 16. All-black bags are the default for a reason: they never look wrong, they do not date and they do not show marks. The extra large is the size that fits a wool tallis and a tefillin bag in one carry.
Of the unembroidered bags in the 500 series, this is the one with the most surface interest while still reading as plain black.
