Description
A quiet bag: design 580 is black velvet with the seaming as its only detail. No embroidery, no contrast, nothing applied to the face. The shaping of the panels and the line of the stitching are what give it definition, and for a lot of men that is exactly enough.
It comes in three sizes: the 10.5 by 10 inch bar mitzvah bag, the 14 by 14 large talis bag and the 16 by 16 extra large. Sized for tefillin on their own at the small end and for a full tallis at the large end, it is one of the more versatile bags in the range simply because nothing about it commits you to an occasion. It looks correct on a weekday morning and correct on Shabbos.
It is also the sensible pick as a spare bag, kept for when the main one is being cleaned or repaired.
