Design 581 splits black and white velvet across the front — the two-tone version of the plain 580, built on the same shape and in the same three sizes. Where 580 relies on seaming alone, 581 uses colour to mark the same panels out, so the construction becomes visible.
The bar mitzvah bag is 10.5 by 10 inches, the large talis bag 14 by 14, and the extra large 16 by 16. If you like the restraint of an unembroidered bag but find all-black too anonymous, this is the middle position. The white velvet needs the usual care, so it suits a bag kept for Shabbos rather than one carried every weekday morning through a yeshiva schedule.
