Description
The gold-on-black-velvet embroidery here carries Malchut's design 900, which puts it at the head of the next hundred in the range. The pattern is confident and evenly worked, and the gold has enough presence to define the whole face of the bag without turning it into an ornament.
The bag is made at 10.5 by 10, 14 by 14 and 16 by 16 inches. That is the bar mitzvah size, the large talis bag and the extra large. A boy is fine with the first for years; a man with a standard wool tallis needs the second; and the third is for a large tallis, or for a man who keeps his siddur, tallis and tefillin all in one place.
The 900 design is also produced as a matzah cover and a haggadah cover, which makes it a workable choice for a family that likes to see the same pattern at the seder as on the way to shul.
