Description
Design 936 is a black velvet bag finished with gold embroidery, worked in a pattern that reads as a single composition rather than as separate motifs stitched next to each other. That coherence is what makes it look expensive at a distance, and the velvet underneath gives it the depth to support the thread.
Made in bar mitzvah, 14 by 14 talis and 16 by 16 extra large sizes. Choose on contents: a boy's tallis and his tefillin fit the smallest, a full wool tallis with tefillin needs the 14 by 14, and a large tallis wants the 16 by 16. Nobody has ever complained that their bag had a little too much room in it.
Velvet of this weight repays a little care. Keep it off radiators and out of long sun, brush rather than rub if something marks it, and the bag will still look right when it is handed to the next generation.
