Megillah Case, Classical Scroll Black Fur Tube #1265

Black fur runs across the cap of this classical scroll case, and it is the detail that does all the work. The body is the plain tube shape Malchut calls classical — no embossing, no panel, nothing competing with the fur — so what you notice from a few feet away is the depth of the pile and the way it sits against the darker body. Design 1265.

Two lengths are made. The large is 17.7 inches, which takes a full-size klaf without the scroll bowing inside; the small is 14 inches, for a shorter megillah or for a boy carrying his own. Both come with the personalized snap-on handle, which clips on for the walk to shul and comes off when the case is set down on the shtender, so nothing dangles while the megillah is being read.

Design 1265 is also cut as a siddur cover and as a tallis and tefillin bag. Ordering the megillah case and the tallis bag in the same number is the usual way a family builds a matched set over a few years rather than all at once.
