Description
Grey is the middle ground in the classy scroll range — not as severe as the black tube, not as warm as the brown. On design 1025GG it gives a modern, understated finish that goes well with a plainer megillah and does not fight a decorated klaf if the scroll itself is the ornate part of the pair.
The tube is cut at 17.7 inches and 14 inches. Most full-size scrolls need the 17.7; the 14 inch is the size for a shorter megillah, and it is also the one a bar mitzvah bochur can carry without it looking oversized on him. Either size comes with the personalized snap-on handle, which clips on and off rather than being fixed to the body.
If you already have a black case and are buying a second for a son or a son-in-law, the grey is the easy way to tell two cases apart in a house where several people carry their own.
