Description
Design #411 builds its corner embroidery around a stone set in the centre of the design. The stone is the focus and the stitching radiates out from it into the corner of the velvet face, which gives the bag a point of light that thread alone does not produce. It is a dressier treatment than the plain corner numbers in the same series.
Three sizes are made: a single tefillin bag at 8.5 x 9.5, a large talis bag at 14 x 14 and an extra large at 16 x 16. Note that the single tefillin bag is produced without stones — it is the plain version of the design, which is what most men want on a bag that lives inside another bag. The 14 x 14 and 16 x 16 carry the stone.
The stone makes this a bag people notice, so it is worth thinking about where it will be used. For a man who wants something with presence on the shtender, that is exactly the point.
