Custom #1026 is one of the numbers that works equally well as a bar mitzvah gift and as a bag for a grown man, which is not as common as it sounds — many designs are pitched at one or the other. The embroidery here is from Malchut's custom work, so the density and finish are a step above the standard catalogue line without the design being aimed at a thirteen-year-old.
Sizes are bar mitzvah 10.5 x 10, large talis bag 14 x 14 and extra large 16 x 16. If it is genuinely for a bochur, the bar mitzvah cut is right for the first few years, but plenty of families order the 14 x 14 from the start so the bag still fits once he is wearing a full tallis after the chasunah.
The same design is made as a shofar bag, which is the piece to add for a baal tokea — a shofar in a matching bag is one of those details that only gets noticed on Rosh Hashanah, and then gets noticed by everyone.
