Description
Design #1032 is cut to carry a tallis and tefillin together rather than to hold one or the other, and the proportions reflect that. It comes from Malchut's custom line, so the embroidery work is the heavier grade the house keeps for those numbers, laid out to sit properly on the face of the bag when it is full rather than only when it is flat.
Three sizes are offered: bar mitzvah 10.5 x 10, large talis bag 14 x 14, and extra large 16 x 16. The bar mitzvah cut is for a bochur with tefillin and a tallis katan. The 14 x 14 is where most adults land — a full tallis and tefillin fit without pressure. The 16 x 16 is the answer when the tallis is one of the big wool ones and folding it small every day is not worth it.
For a man who currently carries two separate bags, moving to a single 14 x 14 or 16 x 16 is a practical change as much as a cosmetic one.
