Description
Design #1037 is built for shul every morning rather than for the two or three times a year a bag gets looked at closely. It comes from Malchut's custom range, so the embroidery is the better grade, but the design itself is proportioned and finished with daily handling in mind rather than display.
It is made in three sizes: bar mitzvah 10.5 x 10 for a bochur with tefillin, large talis bag 14 x 14 for a man carrying tallis and tefillin together, and extra large 16 x 16 for a full-size wool tallis or for anyone who also brings a siddur along. The 14 x 14 is the size the majority of adults order and the one that fits most shul cubbies.
There is a case for buying the plainer custom numbers precisely because they are used hard. A bag that goes out every day of the week is going to show wear, and the designs that do not depend on delicate detail carry that wear better.
