Tallis & Tefillin Bag, Custom Embroidered Design #1052

Custom #1052 is quiet enough for a weekday morning and dressed enough for Shabbos, which is a harder balance to strike than it sounds. The embroidery is from Malchut's custom work — proper density, careful placement — but the design does not push itself forward, so the bag does not look out of place at a six o'clock minyan.

Three sizes are made: bar mitzvah 10.5 x 10, large talis bag 14 x 14, and extra large 16 x 16. A bochur takes the bar mitzvah size. The 14 x 14 holds a tallis with tefillin and is the size most adults order. The 16 x 16 is the one to choose for a full-size wool tallis, or when a siddur is travelling in the same bag.

For a man who has been managing with one bag for Shabbos and another for the week, this is the kind of design that replaces both. That is usually a better outcome than owning two bags and liking neither.
