Tallis & Tefillin Bag in Black Leather with Grey or Fur #1057

Black leather is the base of #1057, and you choose what sits against it. One version pairs the black with grey leather, a two-tone treatment that keeps the whole bag in hide. The other sets black fur against the black leather, which changes the character completely: the fur adds depth and softness to what would otherwise be a strictly formal bag. Fur work of this kind is one of the things Malchut is known for, and the trim is set in cleanly rather than glued on top.

All three of the standard cuts are available. The 10.5" x 10" bar mitzvah bag is scaled for a bochur; the 14" x 14" large talis bag is the everyday size for a grown man; the 16" x 16" extra large takes a full tallis without cramming. Think about the tallis first, then the bag, because a tallis forced into a bag that is a size too small wears at the folds.

The fur version reads as the dressier of the two and is the one usually chosen for a chosson. The grey leather version is easier to live with day to day and shows marks less.
