Description
#1230 is Malchut working in their upper range: heavier material under the embroidery, and stitching that fills the face rather than sitting in one panel. The bag holds its squareness, which is the practical difference between a well-made tallis bag and a cheap one. After a few years of daily use the corners on this kind of construction stay sharp instead of rounding off.
Three sizes cover the usual cases. 10.5" x 10" is the bar mitzvah cut, sized around a first pair of tefillin. 14" x 14" is the large talis bag and the size most men own. 16" x 16" is the extra large, for a full or heavy tallis. If the bag is going to a bochur who will be using it long past his bar mitzvah, the 14" x 14" is not too big to start with.
A matching siddur cover is made in the same design. Bought together, the bag and the cover read as one set, which is the reason many customers stay with a single Malchut design number across several pieces instead of mixing.
