Tallis & Tefillin Bag, Black Leather with Fur or Velvet, Design #1274

Two treatments, both black. The first is black leather with black fur, a tonal bag where the texture rather than the colour creates the pattern; from a distance it reads as one deep black surface, and up close the fur band separates cleanly from the hide. The second is black velvet panelled with black leather, which swaps the softness of fur for the sheen of velvet and gives a dressier, more formal result. Neither adds a second colour anywhere.

All-black bags come in the same three cuts as everything else in the custom line: 10.5" x 10" bar mitzvah, 14" x 14" large talis, and 16" x 16" extra large. The choice is decided by the tallis, not by the finish, and the extra large is the right answer for a heavy woolen tallis or for a bag that also carries a siddur.
