Description
Malchut embroiders 1279 edge to edge, so there is no plain field anywhere on the face. That takes considerably more thread than a centre-panel design and it changes how the bag behaves: a fully embroidered face is stiffer, holds its squareness better, and resists creasing at the fold lines. It sits in the middle of the range on price, which for the amount of stitching involved is fair.
Order it as a bar mitzvah bag at 10.5" x 10", a standard large talis bag at 14" x 14", or an extra large at 16" x 16". The bar mitzvah cut is the size given with a first pair of tefillin. The two larger cuts are for a man with a full tallis, the 16" x 16" being the one to take if the tallis is heavy or if a siddur goes in alongside it.
An edge-to-edge design like this reads well from a distance, which matters more than people expect when the bag is sitting on a shtender in a full beis medrash and its owner wants to find it quickly.
