Tallis & Tefillin Bag, Fur Panel with Black or Grey Leather, Design #1280

On 1280 the fur is not a trim, it is a panel. A wide band of fur takes up a substantial part of the face, meeting black or grey leather at a clean edge, and the proportions are what make the design work. Three finishes are offered: black fur with black leather, black fur with grey leather, and black-and-white fur with grey leather, the last being the one with the most contrast and the most movement in it.

Each is cut as a 10.5" x 10" bar mitzvah bag, a 14" x 14" large talis bag, or a 16" x 16" extra large. The fur panel scales with the bag, so the design holds its proportions at every size. Choose the cut on the tallis: the smallest for a bochur, the middle for a standard woolen tallis, the largest for a heavy one.

A fur panel this wide asks to be kept out of the rain, but treated normally it stays full for many years and is one of the first things people notice about the bag.
