Tallis & Tefillin Bag, Black Leather with Grey or Blue Fur, Design #1285

Black leather is the constant on 1285; the fur is where the choices are. Grey fur gives the most subdued result, close in tone to the leather. Blue fur is the unexpected one and reads as a deliberate choice rather than an accident. There is a version combining white fur and black fur on the same bag, and a black-and-white fur that mixes the two into a single band. Four finishes, one body, and a design that is built around the contrast between hide and fur.

The bag is made as a bar mitzvah size at 10.5" x 10", a large talis bag at 14" x 14", and an extra large at 16" x 16". A bochur takes the first; a man with a standard tallis takes the second; the third is for a heavy or oversized tallis and for anyone who also carries a siddur.

Malchut makes a matching megillah case in this design, which is one of the few pieces that genuinely benefits from matching, since it comes out once a year in front of everybody.
