Description
Understated is the whole point of 1390. Black leather or light grey leather, no fur, no velvet, no contrast panel, just the embroidery working against the hide. Black is the formal, invisible option, the bag that disappears next to a dark coat. Light grey is the same design in a softer register, and it is the one more younger men have been choosing lately. Both come from the heavier end of the custom range, so the body is substantial even though the face is quiet.
Sizes are 10.5" x 10" bar mitzvah, 14" x 14" large talis, and 16" x 16" extra large. The bar mitzvah cut is bought with a first pair of tefillin. Grown men divide between the larger two, and the deciding factor is how the tallis folds.
A matching siddur cover is made in this design. On a plain bag like this the pairing works particularly well, because there is no busy pattern to reconcile between the two pieces.
