This is the design that opens Malchut's 2000 series, and the number is not accidental. The face is fully embroidered rather than panelled in fur or velvet, so the pattern itself carries the bag. Everything in the series that follows works off the same construction; #2000 is where it starts.

Sizing steps up in three stages. At 10.5 by 10 inches the bar mitzvah bag is proportioned for a bochur with a smaller tallis and one pair of tefillin. At 14 by 14 the large talis bag handles a full tallis folded in quarters. At 16 by 16 the extra large is for the man whose tallis is heavy wool and who does not want to compress it every morning. The embroidery is laid out to fill whichever panel you order, so the larger sizes are not simply the same motif floating in more space.

An embroidered bag ages differently than a fur one. There is nothing on the face to flatten or shed, which is why so many men who daven with the bag every day come back to this series.
