Three ways to build #2013, all of them starting from black fur. All-over black fur is the plainest and the softest looking. Black fur with black velvet sets two dark textures against each other, so the divisions show only in certain light. Black fur with white crushed velvet is the loudest of the three, the crushed nap catching light unevenly against the flat dark fur.

Each style is made in the bar mitzvah 10.5 by 10, the large talis 14 by 14, and the extra large 16 by 16. Fur takes up a little more of the face on the smaller cut, so the all-fur version on a bar mitzvah bag is a very different object from the same version at 16 by 16.

Crushed velvet in white is a statement piece and is best kept for a bag that is carried rather than thrown. The all-black options are the ones to pick for a bochur in yeshiva.
