Description
Coverage is the defining quality of #2024. The embroidery runs edge to edge across the face with no plain ground left, which gives the front real density and a slight raised feel under the hand. It is one of the fuller designs in the 2000 series and it is meant to be seen as a worked object rather than a decorated one.
Made in the three Malchut cuts: 10.5 by 10 inches for a bar mitzvah bochur, 14 by 14 for a standard adult tallis, and 16 by 16 for a large or heavy one. Full-coverage embroidery means the larger sizes carry considerably more work than the small, which is visible when the two sit next to each other.
Design #2024 is also produced in lucite, so the same design can carry across from the bag to a matching piece for the table or the shtender. That kind of continuity across materials is unusual and it is one of the better reasons to order by design number.
