Tallis & Tefillin Bag, Grey Floral Leather with Fur or Crushed Velvet, Design #2025

Grey floral leather is the starting point for two of the three versions of #2025, paired either with white fur or with white crushed velvet. The third drops the floral entirely and puts white crushed velvet against plain black leather. Grey floral with white fur is the softest of the three; the crushed velvet versions have more shine and more movement in the light.

Each is cut as a bar mitzvah bag at 10.5 by 10 inches, a large talis bag at 14 by 14, or an extra large at 16 by 16. The floral embossing scales with the panel, so it stays proportionate rather than becoming a wallpaper effect on the biggest size.

Grey and white is a genuinely different register from the black-on-black that dominates this category, and it tends to appeal to a man buying his second serious bag rather than his first. The black leather and crushed velvet version is the conservative pick of the three.
