Tallis & Tefillin Bag, Black or Navy Leather with Fur or Velvet, Design #2034

Three finishes, and they are far enough apart to be different bags. Black leather with black and white fur is the standard reading of the design. Navy leather with navy fur is tonal and quiet, the fur showing as texture rather than contrast. Black and white fur with white crushed velvet drops the leather almost entirely and puts two soft materials against each other.

Each is made at 10.5 by 10 inches, 14 by 14 and 16 by 16, covering a bar mitzvah bochur, a standard adult tallis and a large one. The fur-and-velvet version has the most texture on the face, so if he is hard on a bag, one of the leather-based versions is the wiser order.

Navy on navy is the one that most often goes to a man buying for himself. The fur-and-crushed-velvet version is the one that gets ordered as a gift for a chosson, where the bag is meant to be an occasion in itself.
