Tallis & Tefillin Bag in Black or White Leather with Fur Trim #5028

Design #5028 is built on the contrast between fur and leather, and there are three ways to take it. Black fur on black leather is the tonal version, all texture and no colour break. White fur on white leather does the same thing in reverse and is a genuinely striking bag, unusual enough that it is almost always bought deliberately. Black fur on white leather is the sharp option, with the panel reading hard against the pale hide.

Sizes are the standard three. A bar mitzvah bag runs 10.5 by 10 inches; the large talis bag is 14 by 14; the extra large is 16 by 16. Choose the middle size if a folded tallis and tefillin travel together every day, and the largest if the tallis is heavy wool or you carry more than the two items.

White is worth thinking about for a chosson. It carries under a chupah and through the first year of Shabbosim, and it is a bag that does not blend into the row of black ones at the back of the shul.
