Custom embroidery is what #5042 offers, worked by Malchut Judaica on a bag made after the order is placed. There is no fur trim or leather inlay in the specification — the design lives entirely in the thread on the front panel, which keeps the bag light and easy to carry every day.
Three sizes are built. The bar mitzvah bag measures 10.5 by 10 inches and is scaled around a boy and his tefillin. The large talis bag at 14 by 14 is the adult standard and holds a folded tallis alongside both tefillin. The extra large at 16 by 16 is the size for full wool, and the one men choose when they have spent years with a bag that was always slightly too tight.
Buying for a bar mitzvah, the question is really how soon the boy will wear a tallis. If it is a matter of a few years, the 14 by 14 saves a second purchase and he grows into the bag rather than out of it.
