Design #5090 carries its embroidery across the full front of the bag. There is no fur panel, no velvet and no second leather — the stitching occupies the whole face, so the design is read as one piece rather than as a motif sitting on a background. Malchut produces it once the order is placed.

The bag comes in bar mitzvah, large and extra large. Bar mitzvah is 10.5 by 10 inches and is scaled for a boy with tefillin. Large is the 14 by 14 talis bag, the size that has to hold a folded tallis and both tefillin every morning. Extra large is 16 by 16, which is what you want for a heavy wool tallis or if the tefillin sit in a bigger set of batim than usual.

Full-front embroidery makes this a natural bar mitzvah bag — it looks like something on the day, and it is a design that a man is still comfortable carrying at forty. The design number can be quoted later if a matching piece is wanted.
