Fur Tallis & Tefillin Bag, Black or Blue Fur (Design #5900)

Fur is the material on #5900 rather than an accent on it, and the whole surface has that soft, deep texture. Two colours are offered. Black fur is the conventional choice and gives the bag weight without any colour break at all. Blue fur is the alternative, and it is a genuine departure — a bag that nobody else on the bench is carrying, and one that reads clearly across a room.

Sizes follow the Malchut standard. Bar mitzvah is 10.5 by 10 inches, the fourteen inch is the large talis bag, and the sixteen inch is the extra large. Most men take the fourteen inch, which holds a folded tallis with the tefillin beside it. The sixteen inch is the choice for a heavy wool tallis, and it is also the more comfortable option if the bag is carried a long way.

The blue is worth thinking about for a bar mitzvah bochur specifically. A boy who can find his own bag instantly among thirty black ones in a yeshiva coatroom is a boy who does not lose his tefillin.
