The 6000 series opens with this one. Design #6000 is a clean embroidered bag — a defined motif worked on the front, plenty of quiet around it, and no fur, velvet or contrast leather anywhere in the specification. It is made to order by Malchut Judaica and is the least ornamented starting point in the series.
Three sizes are produced. The 10.5 by 10 inch bar mitzvah bag is for a boy carrying tefillin. The 14 by 14 large talis bag is the adult standard and the size most orders come in for. The 16 by 16 extra large is the one to take when a full wool tallis has to share the bag with a decent set of tefillin, and it is also the size that suits a man who keeps a gartel and tallis katan in the same place.
Restrained designs are the safest gift when you do not know the recipient's taste well. Nothing about #6000 will feel wrong to a chosson, a rebbi or a father-in-law.
