Embroidered Velvet Tallis & Tefillin Bag, Three Sizes (Design #V1034)

Deep pile velvet under fine thread work — that is the whole proposition of #V1034, and it is why the velvet collection exists as a separate line from the leather and fur bags. The velvet gives the embroidery something to sit against; light falls into the pile and comes back off the thread, so the design reads clearly even from a distance.

Made in three cuts. The bar mitzvah bag at 10.5 x 10 is proportioned to a boy and his first tefillin. The 14 x 14 large talis bag is the size an adult normally settles on. The 16 x 16 extra large is the one to take when the tallis is heavy or when the bag has to hold a siddur too. Velvet gives a little, so a 14 x 14 will take slightly more than its dimensions suggest, but do not count on that with a full wool tallis.

Each bag in this collection is embroidered to order against its number rather than pulled from a finished run.
