Velvet Tallis & Tefillin Bag, Grey or Crushed White (Design #V1044)

#V1044 gives you black velvet paired with one of two second fabrics. With grey velvet the bag is tonal and even — the two piles sit close together and the embroidery carries the contrast. With white crushed velvet the second panel is broken and reflective, catching light unevenly across its surface, and the bag reads far brighter.

Size is picked separately. The bar mitzvah bag measures 10.5 x 10 and is the right scale for a boy's first tefillin and tallis. The large talis bag at 14 x 14 is the everyday adult size. The extra large at 16 x 16 is for a full wool tallis, or for a bag that has to carry more than the basics. All three are cut from the same design and finished the same way.

Crushed velvet has a different character from flat velvet and should be chosen on purpose rather than by accident — it is the livelier of the two, and it changes noticeably depending on how the light falls.
