The 10.5 x 10 bar mitzvah bag suits a bochur; the 14 x 14 large talis bag is the standard adult size and takes a folded tallis with tefillin; the 16 x 16 extra large is the one for heavier talleisim. Fine embroidery scales differently across sizes — on the largest bag the detail is easier to appreciate, on the smallest it reads as a dense field.
