Velvet Tallis & Tefillin Bag, Crushed Velvet or Fur (Design #V1258)

#V1258 offers black velvet with one of two second surfaces. Grey crushed velvet gives a broken, light-catching panel that shifts as the bag moves; black fur gives depth and softness instead, with the contrast coming from texture rather than colour. Both sit against the same black velvet body and the same embroidered layout.

Sizes are chosen independently of the style. The bar mitzvah bag is 10.5 x 10, built around a first set of tefillin and a boy's tallis. The large talis bag is 14 x 14 and is the everyday adult size. The extra large is 16 x 16, for a full wool tallis or for a bag that carries a machzor over Yomim Noraim as well.

The fur version runs at the top of this design's price range and reads as the more formal of the two; the crushed velvet is the livelier choice and works better as a bag used through the week.
