Description
#V1270 is built from two velvets and lets you decide which one leads. Grey over black gives a lighter bag with the darker velvet acting as the frame; black over grey does the opposite, keeping the body dark and using the grey as relief. The embroidery layout is identical either way, so the choice is purely about which tone dominates.
The bag is cut at 10.5 x 10 for a bar mitzvah, 14 x 14 for a large talis bag and 16 x 16 for the extra large. The reversal shows more clearly on the bigger sizes, where there is more of each velvet to see. On the bar mitzvah bag the two versions read closer to one another.
If two bags are being bought at once — a father and a son, say — ordering one of each reversal gives a matched pair that can still be told apart at a glance.
