Velvet Tallis & Tefillin Bag with Arched Embroidery (Design #V1428)

Arches run across the front of #V1428 — curved forms rising from the base of the face, the same architectural idea that shows up on an aron kodesh. The embroidery is worked on velvet, so the arches are defined by thread against pile rather than by a change of fabric, and they hold their shape from a distance.

Three sizes are cut to order: 10.5 x 10 bar mitzvah, 14 x 14 large talis, 16 x 16 extra large. Arched designs need vertical room to work, so the larger the bag the more the shape reads; on the bar mitzvah cut the arches sit tighter together. Choose by what the bag has to hold — a boy's set, a standard tallis, or a heavy wool one.
