Velvet Tallis & Tefillin Bag with Antique or White Velvet #V3011

#V3011 is a two-tone design, and the second tone changes the bag completely. Black velvet with brown antique velvet gives a warm, aged pairing — the antique finish has a duller, older surface than standard pile. Black velvet with white velvet goes the other way, sharp and high-contrast, with the embroidery reading clearly across the join.

Both versions are made at 10.5 x 10, 14 x 14 and 16 x 16. The bar mitzvah cut suits a bochur; the large talis bag suits a man with a regular tallis; the extra large is for a heavy wool one. On the two-tone designs the larger sizes show more of the second fabric, which is worth bearing in mind if the contrast is the reason you are buying.

Antique velvet is the more unusual of the two and does not turn up on many numbers in the collection.
