#V3019 belongs to Malchut's custom velvet collection, embroidered on majestic velvet and made up to 16 x 16. There is one version of the design — no fabric choice, no thread choice — so what arrives is what the number specifies. For a lot of buyers that is a relief rather than a limitation.
The three cuts cover the range. A bar mitzvah bochur takes the 10.5 x 10, sized to his tefillin and a smaller tallis. A man wearing a standard tallis takes the 14 x 14 large talis bag. The 16 x 16 extra large is for a full wool tallis, or for a bag expected to hold a siddur as well as the tallis and tefillin.
Velvet is the traditional material for a talis bag, and a design like this one is why: the pile does the work, and the embroidery finishes it.
