Velvet Tallis & Tefillin Bag, Custom Design #V4022

Design #V4022 is built on the same foundation as the rest of Malchut's custom velvet work: a heavy, majestic velvet as the ground, and embroidery worked directly into it. What separates the designs in this collection from the standard numbered range is the amount of stitching and how far it extends across the face of the bag.

Sizes run bar mitzvah at 10.5" x 10", large talis at 14" x 14", and extra large at 16" x 16". A bochur receiving tefillin takes the first. A man carrying tallis and tefillin to shul every morning takes the second. The third is for a large tallis, or for anyone who has ever been annoyed at wrestling a folded tallis back into a bag that was slightly too tight.

Bags in this line are commonly given at a bar mitzvah or before a chasunah, and they are chosen more like a suit than an accessory — bought once, in the version you actually want, and then used without further thought for many years.
