The velvet under design #V4035 is the heaviest grade Malchut works with, and the custom embroidery is applied directly onto it. That combination is the whole point of this collection — the ground fabric is substantial enough to carry dense stitching without puckering, which is the failure you see on lighter bags after a few years of daily use.

Three sizes are offered. Bar mitzvah, 10.5" x 10", holds tefillin. Large talis, 14" x 14", is the size that suits most men and most talleisim. Extra large, 16" x 16", is for the man with a big tallis who would rather have room to spare than fight the zipper on a Sunday morning when he is already late.

It is a good bag to buy at the point when a bochur moves from tefillin alone to a full tallis — the transition after a chasunah for most, earlier for those whose minhag is to wear a tallis from bar mitzvah.
