Description
Black velvet carrying the 1030 decorative front. The velvet is what you notice first — a deep, even pile that shows the ornament in relief rather than flat, and that feels like the traditional way a scroll is kept. Soft-sided, so it wraps the megillah instead of housing it.
It is cut at 18 by 6 inches and at 15 by 6 inches. A standard full klaf needs the 18; the 15 is for a shorter scroll. If you are unsure, the larger is the safer order, since a small megillah sits perfectly well in a big pouch and a large one simply will not go into a small one.
Malchut makes 1030 as a tallis and tefillin bag too. Velvet on both, in the same design, is how a lot of men end up with a set that reads as one thing across Purim and every weekday morning.
