Deluxe Talis HaMefoar in White Stripes, Lined Pure Wool with Double Knot Tips

White stripes on white, in a weave chosen deliberately for its weight. The Talis HaMefoar is pure wool, and this version uses a weave pattern that gives it more substance in the hand and a slightly rough surface — not a flaw but the reason it stays put on the shoulder instead of sliding off during Shemoneh Esrei. It arrives lined, with reinforcements, and with tips cut from the same wool as the body so that nothing looks grafted on.

Five sizes are made: small 55, medium 60, extra large 63, large 70 and extra extra large 80, taken by height — small under five foot four, medium to five foot seven, large to five foot ten, and up from there. Strings come three ways: thick avodas yad tied Ashkenaz, thick avodas yad tied Sefardi, or bli, with none on at all, for a man who has his own arrangement.

The corners are reinforced wool fabric and the tips are finished with a double knot. That last detail sounds minor until you handle two tallisim side by side and see which of them looks finished.
