Ultra Lightweight Talis HaMefoar, Soft Pure Wool with Ashkenaz Black Stripes

The Hamefoar is the tallis that built the range, and the ultra lightweight version is where the weaving shows most clearly. Delicate pure wool yarns are put through a finishing process that leaves the cloth remarkably soft to the hand while keeping the durability of the fabric intact. The stripe is the black Ashkenaz pattern, and the corners are woven from pure wool as well.

Sizes are 55, 60, 63, 70 and 80. Read them against your height: 55 under five foot four, 60 for five foot five to five foot seven, 70 for five foot eight to five foot ten, and larger above that. Strings are the thick avodas yad or bli — take bli if your tzitzis are going to a particular sofer or you are putting techeiles on.

Set against the deluxe white-striped Hamefoar, the difference is hand and weight rather than grade. This one is soft and light; the deluxe is heavier with a rougher surface and holds the shoulder more firmly.
